Mikolas Josef é compositor, produtor, cantor, multi-instrumentista e realizador de vídeos de música. Cresceu em Praga e Znojmo, mas vive em Viena. Vem de uma família de músicos e toca guitarra desde os cinco anos.
Aos 17 anos ganhou dos maiores prémios de mérito da London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts; a Medalha de Ouro com distinção para ator a solo. No entanto, não seguiu por uma carreira na dramaturgia.
Antes de embarcar na carreira musical, Mikolas foi manequim de algumas das maiores marcas de moda. Mas rapidamente deixou essa vida e mudou-se para cidades como Oslo, Zurique, Hamburgo, Viena e Praga onde viveu como músico de rua. Depois disso investiu tudo o que tinha poupado no seu primeiro single e videoclip Hands Bloody.
Mikolas tornou-se mais conhecido na República Checa depois do seu segundo single Free. Depois de lançar o single Believe, Mikolas mudou-se para Viena, a convite do engenheiro de som Nikodem Milewski que mais tarde se tornou o “mentor musical” de Mikolas.
