Michael Schulte, 28, começou o seu percurso musical em 2007, com um canal de YouTube onde fazia covers de canções. Desde aí que arrecadou já mais de 200,000 subscritores.
O álbum de estreia de Michael Schulte, Wide Awake, foi lançado em setembro de 2012 e atingiu o topo das tabelas de música dos artistas revelação na Alemanha.
Depois de uma tour esgotada em 2014, o seu segundo álbum, The Arising, foi lançado antes do final do ano. No ano seguinte, Michael afastou-se dos palcos para redefinir a sua abordagem musical e fez parte de inúmeras sessões de escrita à volta do mundo.
Em dezembro 2016, Michael começou a produzir o seu próximo álbum, Hold the Rhythm, ajudado pelo produtor sueco Kim Wennerström. O álbum foi tornado público em abril de 2017 com o single End of My Days. O single que lhe sucedeu, Falling Apart, relembrou a maravilhosa voz do artista.
ARD, a televisão pública alemã, também reconheceu o seu talento e nomeou-o como um dos seis cantores que seriam sujeitos ao voto do público para representar o país no Eurovision Song Contest em Lisboa. Daí, Michael criou 10 canções inéditas.
You Let Me Walk Alone é uma canção extremamente pessoal, em que o cantor fala da perda do pai demasiado cedo.
Desde aí que a canção mostrou ter algo especial: emocional e orelhuda.
