Synopsis

Isabel calls emergency services covered in blood. Her husband lies dead on the floor—and she admits she killed him. But the truth of that night begins long before the fatal moment. Once deeply in love, their marriage slowly turned into a cycle of control, humiliation, and violence. Isabel endured it, clinging to memories of happier days and the promises he once made. Eventually she began secretly recording the abuse—every insult, every threat. When she finally tried to leave, he tried to kill her. She fought back. Now Isabel stands trial for his death. The judge appears to have already decided her fate, but when the case is reassigned to a new judge, the possibility of justice returns. In the end, Isabel is acquitted. The verdict: cannot return the years she lost—but it gives her something she thought she might never have again: freedom.
