OTTER

Synopsis

In a fertile river eco-system in Northern Portugal a young Eurasian otter (lutra lutra) – Kiko – discovers the secrets of this fascinating world, populated with fish that predate the dinosaurs and birds that can “fly” under water. We follow Kiko’s growth from his first explorations outside his family to his independence as an adult hunter and guardian of his territory.

With spectacular images, the documentary, shot over four years, offers a fascinating reflection on the importance of rivers as vital corridors of biodiversity.
